Benningon Vermont

This is the corner of Main Street in Bennington where US 7 and Vermont 9 meet. There are various shops and restaurants located in this area. Bennington is a very laid back town. People seem to keep to themselves and let life roll.
This is the small motel I am staying called the Kirkside Motor Lodge. It is not the Ritz-Carlton or the Four Seasons but it is well maintained and it is within walking distance to downtown.
This is the Bennington Battle Monument. While it is not the Washington Monument it is still pretty impressive.

The food in Bennington is very good for a town of less than 13,000. There are several small pubs around town that serve food. Last night I ate at a restaurant called Allegro's. They had an appetizer of stuffed risotto which was risotto stuffed with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce. The entree I had was Shrimp and Asparagus which was sauteed shrimp and asparagus in white wine cream sauce of bacon and garlic over linguini.

I had breakfast this morning at a place called "Full Bellies". The name is very appropriate you will leave with a full belly. They serve great omelette's and coffee.
